When my baby is laying down or just being held he wont stop kicking his feet and waving his arms, I've seen other babys do this but not nearly as bad as him. He does this most of the night too. He moves constantly during sleep, is this normal?

Hello! I have a 8 month old who loves to scream in public. She is happy when she screams and when i say 'no," she looks at me and laughs. I am too afraid to take her out in public because of her high pitched screams. Any advice on how to get her to stop screaming in public

Hey everyone I'm new to this! I have a 17 month old little girl [Alie] and I'm 30 1/2 weeks prego with girl #2!! [Haylee] I find myself getting bored this go round and I dont know if that is normal!? I guess I'm this far into it now and I'm more ready for the big finish than anything else!

Hi,

A little about myself, I am in the Army and have been for the last 4 years. My situation is a little difficult...my girlfriend and I are 23 weeks along but I only get to see her every couple weeks and it varies. This a little upsetting since she really has to deal with a lot of things on her own. I try and be as supportive as I can but there is not a whole I can do when I am away.

If there is someone out there that has had to go through a "long distance" pregnancy and has some advice please respond.

I have tried to avoid thinking about when I actually have my little girl because I will be away from her as well and that is going to be even more difficult.

I have two daughters that are 15 months apart. We put our new baby in a pack n' play and it has worked great. At 9 months she is still sleeping in it as we are just transitioning the oldest into a twin bed. With our oldest we had her in a pack n' play for a little over a year because we couldn't afford a crib. Oh, our pack n' play as the full bassinet that is raised which is very nice with a small baby so you don't have to lean all the way in to pick them up. I know they make them also with half bassinet and half changing table. My sister-in-law used one of these styles for a couple months with her baby and it worked great for her. Hope you get something figured out, I know how stressful it can be.

My advice for you(having two girls under two and expecting our third in August) is to ask her now what she is thinking she will need help with. If you live close don't be afraid to call and see if she needs a meal or just some time to sleep. I think with my first it was nice to have time with just my husband, me, and our little one. But, it is very exhausting also so time to rest is always a good thing. Good luck and Congrats!

How helpful can a new grandmother be? Some families share housing and others live a continent apart, and some grandparents feel isolated and others close to their families. There are new styles of communicating(blogs), strollers and papooses, medicines, playgroups, information availability that didn't exist 50 years ago, and that is a good thing. Others aspects don't change at all. It is good to have a place to share. Does my daughter want us to be with her during delivery? Does she want us to stay with her and help in any way possible? Which would she prefer: housecleaning, food prep., laudry, errands, baby care at difficult times? These are questions this grandmother has in the 6th month of my daughter's pregnacy.

This seems like such a great idea. There are always questions that I have about raising kids. I have two boy who are 15 months apart. Life gets crazy sometimes. But I love it. It will be great to read about the lives of other moms and their little ones.

Lol. My wife can never make it to her due dates. It doesn't help that the doctors here all give different dates, the ultrasound tech wanting to go later, the OB wanting to induce early...Ultimately the OB has won the battle both times, but then he's been right too. My wife has had higher blood pressure during the last two pregnancies, so we've always needed to be induced early.

An early arrival doesn't bother me one bit. I hate waiting even one day to open a gift. I don't like knowing a package is on the UPS truck out for delivery. I certainly don't mind having my new baby a few days/weeks early. Saves the torment of wating, as far as I'm concerned.

Jennifer, congratulations on the girl. Girls are lots of fun. We'd like a few of those boys that are being dished out to everybody. We sure love our girls, but it just sounds fun to have boys. I'm sure if we HAD some boys, I'd maybe want to rethink that view, but you know what they say about absence and the heart. :)

Welcome and Congrats! It is always exciting to be near the end of a pregnancy. I have two daughters and am expecting my third in August. We don't know what we are having yet but our ultrasound is in two weeks- can't wait to find out!
