Making your own baby food can be as much fun as it is cost effective compared to buying it off the shelf. Here is a run down of how you can make your baby’s meals quickly in five simple steps:
- Choose the vegetable you would like to introduce to your baby.
- Boil, steam, or cook the vegetable until it is soft.
- Place the cooked vegetable in a blender and continue to blend until it is smooth. Add water until it reaches the consistency your baby can eat.
- Put the blended food in ice cube trays and wait for it to freeze.
- Finally, once the food is frozen all the way through pop the food out of the trays and put them in a freezer bag(make sure to label the bag with contents and date).
*Quick Note: If you have trouble getting the food out of the ice cube trays you can place the tray in the bottom of a sink with warm water until they will loosen from the tray. (this will typically only take a few moments). Then simply turn the tray upside down into the freezer bag.
Each cube will make one serving size which you can thaw in the microwave to have a hot meal ready for your baby in seconds!
